WSOD on sony ericsson

guy .. im getting WSOD on my Sony Ericsson W850I , the screen keep on flashing in white , heard from someone that i need to flash the rom , i have no freaking idea where to get the tools from.. and im soo not in the mood to find it on google ( down with my flu again thanx to my girl )

so can anyone here kind enough to help me on this issue

I've only have experience flashing Motorola phones, but I did some research for my bro last time, and read quite a lot about SE phones.

First things first, connect to SEUS and flash the latest firmware.

If not, then you've gotta use Wotan. Payware, afaik.

Or you can try this:

You are flashing your phone and all of a sudden something goes wrong, Program hangs or it shows an error. Or Flashing goes with success but when you try to start your phone but the red light at the infrared port blinks 5 times and phone refuses to start. XS++ and SeTool 2 lite no longer detect your phone. Your computer also does not identify your phone. Its Completely Dead.. We will fix it, Read On.

Some time during flashing the EROM goes dead or corrupt due to errors. Redlight blinking is a sign of low battery or a dead EROM. If phone has a bad EROM it shuts down and does not start.

In that case we have to repair the EROM. And now here we will discuss the easiest way to fix it.

Using SeTool2 lite 1.11 we can fix this problem by this way.
Download SETOOL2 lite 1.11 http://www.4shared.com/file/35050308/4930132a/SETool2_Lite_v111.html?s=1

Start SeTool 2 lite
Press Unlock\\Repair Button, The first button.
Reinsert Battery
Connect phone holding 2+5
Wait, SeTool 2 lite will repair the EROM, it will flash it back.
Done
Now you can start your phone.

SE phones are very problematic. Motorola L7 is still the best. Most moddable phone ever.

IF your phone is under Warranty then get it checked and repaired by the company(Sony Ericsson). I don't think you should play with Phone's hardware and software unless you are a pro yourself.

WSOD occurs in my Nokia Phone too but only sometimes. Whenever I run a resource intesive Game or App, the screen goes white. All I do is Restart the phone and it becomes normal then.

Malaysian phone shops ripoff customers as do computer repair shops. To add extra languages, you've gotta pay RM50, whereas you only have to flash and extra 1 MB language file.

@ismailtahir, try searching the forums there, maybe they might have some tutorials available.
