I guess rates are almost same as what it is available here in India as well,Thats why people still prefer to get it from US and unlock it here .

Same with Canada, US always gets it cheaper. Though apparently it's not selling in Japan, so it's free to anyone who signs up with a term.

Apparently they have added bluetooth and MMS in the new firmware update for the iPhone
