Unhappy iPhone 4 users are being offered a free 'upgrade' to Samsung's Galaxy S

If you happen to be a very unhappy iPhone 4 user from the UK, you might want to start whining about the phone on Twitter. Apparently, folks who had tweeted about the iPhone 4 issues on Twitter are being offered a free "upgrade" to Samsung's Galaxy S!
Call it the Samsung's latest marketing gimmick or cashing in on others' misfortune - whatever it is, it certainly has managed to hog headlines. This is probably the first time any company has undertaken this rather unconventional form of marketing. Samsung apparently wants those who faced problems with the iPhone to check out the Galaxy S and choose the "better phone".


While this offer of a free phone has been thought to be scam earlier, Samsung has confirmed that it is indeed a legitimate campaign. A spokesperson for the company told Wired: "Recently there has been a real increase in online activity from consumers dissatisfied with some of our competitors' products. We decided to contact a cross section of individuals to offer them a free Samsung Galaxy S as a replacement, as we're confident that once people have the phone in their hands, they'll see how impressive it is for themselves."

Now if only I could somehow get one for free... I wouldn't buy an iPhone for this though!
