    Search iOS 5 bugs

    Hey... I just upgraded to iOS 5 from iOS 4.3.5 & just noticed a minor glitch. I live in the Maldives and all my contacts are saved as +960772xxxx (with the country code). Here in the Maldives, you can dial the local numbers without the country code (i.e when someone calls, the number will appear as 772xxxx - without the country code)

    When I was on iOS 4.3.5, when someone who's number was saved with the country code (i.e +960772xxxx) the contact name would still appear on the phone. After upgrading to iOS 5, the names don't appear on the caller ID!

    I have over 300 contacts and I don't want to change the numbers to without the country codes as I travel abroad frequently and have to make calls back home...

    any suggestions???

    Hi nomad9491 i don't have or will have an IPhone but lets hope some-one here can help you out, at least with a pc you would have a disk image to fall back on.. pity they allow updates with bugs in them.

    I just upgraded my wife's iPhone to iOS5 and noticed that there is an "International Assist" option that is turned on by default. Maybe you can turn it off and see if it helps?

    It is at Settings > Phone

    It is at Settings > Phone
    I don't have international assist under phone settings, all I have are;
    - My number
    - CALLS
    - Call Forwarding
    - Call waiting
    - Show my caller ID
    - TTY
    -SIM PIN
    -SIM Applications

    I'm on a iphone 4g factory unlocked from the singapore apple store

    Another thing I noticed is under settings>general>international>region format is selected as United States (there is no Maldives in the list)

    and right below is region format example;
