Bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia ray
After using the crappy and slow HTC Touch 3G running Windows for a couple of years, it is time for a change and go with the current flow which is Android.
Was in the phone shop for a while and didn't know what to choose. Had a look at Samsung Galaxy SII but find it too big to fit in my pocket. I know for sure I don't like huge phones that are too thick, wide or long. A medium sized phone is sufficient.
The boss recommended me Sony XPERIA ray that runs on Android 2.3 and it's really thin and light.

I definitely like the size of this phone and it has a 8MP camera which makes it convenient for me to take photos of my baby without taking out the digital camera. Most importantly, with all the hype on Android today, I am excited to mess around with it. Even the name of the phone had my name on it...
My only gripe is that the Xperai ray is not as powerful if compared with Galaxy SII. Oh well, I knew I had to choose between size or performance. If I want performance, I prefer that to be on my laptop or desktop. So I chose size
One more thing to add. I read the manual and it says "Fully charge the battery before initial use" but no longer mentioned charging 8-24 hours for the first time. I guess we don't need to do that on newer generation of batteries anymore.

I'd rather be fishing!
Have fun playing around with the new toy. It looks like a pretty neat device.

How is the typing experience? Do you have difficult to use the keyboard with it's screen size ?

Nice looking phone, i went to the darkside and ordered a IPhone 4, having used Sony for a few years the camera has always been a really good selling point....
I bet you have loads of fun and memories to keep of your daughter plus the video capture, although they rarely appreciate you showing their baby pictures to their friends when they are older...

Honestly, it is tough to type. Although holding a stylus to point at the letters are tougher but this is not much easier as well. I still prefer the old Nokia where they have keypads and I can actually type a text message without looking at the screen...

This is my first time playing with an Android phone and there's just full of stuff in there. My wife has an iPhone 4 and I think it is so much more user friendly. I could have gone with iPhone 4s but it's quite expensive in Malaysia.

There are lots of fake IPhones for sale here, so it's a mine field getting one that is unlocked and out of contract, the 4s here is expensive also, but i haven't heard anyone selling a fake experia, i did have a look at a couple of experias for sale and was in two minds as i always am, even considered Galaxy S2 which was more reasonable...
Do you plan on printing the pictures Raymond, that you take or storing to some sort of media ?

So far most of the photos that I've taken are stored on my RAID1 (mirror) backup drive.
Only printed a couple to stick it on my refrigerator.
