Friend of mine has got Motorola i930, this mobile was locked, he can not access it.

Which is the right utility (because there are plenty on the net) can be used to unlock it ?

When I tried to switch on the mobile it gives me this message :

    Code:
    Enter Special Code Now:
The mobile is originally with NEXTEL (USA), and my friend tries to use the mobile in Australia. He tried two prepaid SIM cards (Optus, vodafone), but in both cases he received the same message (Enter Special Code Now : ).

By the way on the door's scree (because there are two screens) of the phone also it says :

    Code:
    No Service

    Subsidy : Lock On
I found many sites that claim that can unlock it.

I used to read about some sort of key code generators to unlock nokia phones but not sure about Motorola. Try finding it at this forum.

Before messing with your phone you should always remember back-up your original 'good' firmware.Just in case you happen to brick your moto during the unlocking.
Check out the modding sites to know the steps and precaution, it's very useful.

I have one simple question so I thought it was pointless to start a new thread.

Is unlocking your phone to use a SIM card from an entirely different wireless company illegal?
Because they wouldn't prompt you for an unlock code if they didn't want you to do it...?

I believe it's illegal but many people are doing it.
