    Cool SMSText Message Duplication?

    SMS Text Message Duplication?

Could somebody please tell me why, when I receive a text message on my mobile phone, read it, then a few weeks or even months down the track, that same message is sent again with the original date and after reading it, when I go back to my inbox it disappears?

This has happened with a few people who send me messages. Could it be when they, the original sender deletes this message from their phone it triggers a resend to me?

    Thanks
    Tracy

It seemed like your mobile service provider is resending the text because the original date is still attached. By right the a mobile phone shouldn't resend messages when it is deleted.

Does this happen on only one contact or randomly?

I dont think it is a problem of the mobile, it is surely to be the problem of your network provider.
But the tricky question is, why is it not going in the inbox.

Does the dissapearing act occur only with this type of messages, or with all?

do you have any antivirus for the mobile?

    Hi

    Thanks for your response.

It has happened with about 3 of my contacts and it isn't every message they send to me that is sent again (in fact it would be say 1 in 20 messages from that particular person that is resent) with the original date, it's very random. I am unsure if it is when the sender deletes the message from their phone that it triggers a resend to me, but I have spoken to the people and they definately aren't sending them to me.

    Thanks

    Hi

Thank you for your response also.

When I receive these resent messages, they appears in my inbox as a normal text message would, ie 1 message received. I then go to my inbox and it appears as an unopened envelope with the senders name. I open the text as one normally would, it is only when I open the text and read it, that I realise it is a message I've already received weeks or months previously due to the content. I scroll down the message and can see the original date at the bottom. I then go back to my inbox and the message is gone. The message only disappears when the message has been read and I go back to the inbox.

Yes the disappearing of the message only occurs with these resent messages, the rest of my messages I can either keep, delete or save as normal.

    Thanks for your help.
