If anybody has a suggestion I'd love some help. Using Media Catcher with 2000pro and then XP home has been a cinch. After I opted for XP pro, all I have is a program that will grap the mp3s such as Pandora but I have no ability to retag/add/delete any info. file is grabbed with a number sequence and the section for renaming is shaded out without option.
When I first tried media catcher on my XP pro i received a pop-up that mentioned something wrong with LAME.EXE and would I like windows to fix it. I clicked yes.....nothing happened. Applian is no help and I've isnstalled/uninstalled and rebooted many many times. And nothing works. anybody have ideas? Many thanks. -gkapheim

I've just tried installing Replay Media Catcher and it runs fine. Are you able to check what version of LAME.exe do you have in your computer? Is it 3.97 or 3.98?

Raymond, thanks so much for the quick response. After doing a full search through all files, including hidden, I found only these lame files:
    lame.ax Program Files\Replay AV8
    lame_enc.dll Program Files\Replay AV8
    LAME.EXE Program Files\Media Catcher\mdns
    lame_enc.dll Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Audio Plugins

I hope this clarifies a little. I can find no LAME.EXE edition in windows other than these. When I try to play the files grabbed by Media Catcher, and they are listed as .mp3 files WMP flashes me a pop-up window thats says: 'the file you re attempting to play has an extension (.mp3) that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behaviour. Do I want the Player to try to play the content?'
Thanks Again! Applian has asked me 'to be patient.' -gkapheim

Seems like there's a problem encoding the captured sound to mp3. Try manually installing lame.
The latest release version is 3.97. Try that first. If it doesn't work, try v3.98 beta 8.

Raymond: I gave the new LAME a shot,...no good. So the guys who have done tech work on my laptop reformatted one more time and re-installed Windows XP Pro. no 3rd party software clutter,.....a new clean machine. ReplayMC is not tagging nor recording the file in a recognizable format. WMP is unable to play the file that is marked .mp3. My tech guys have offered to call Applian, maybe get an answer. Any views before I hand over my machine one more time? -gkapheim

No, actually I have been trying to capture mp3s from Pandora. I had been using RMC for about a year on Pandora with ever improving results. As Applian upgraded their software so did the tagging improve. I was getting an almost 95% completion. Now , if you go to 'rename media' the line for mp3(uppermost) is renamable, however the the rest is shaded....just like capturing a flash video, the artist and album, etc. are left 'shaded in'. I would have provided the perfect testimonial.
Oh, and the Windows XP Pro is completely updated. Thanks Again, -gkapheim
