weird wifi connection
im on public wifi... normally only the wireless network connection lights up but on rare occasions the broadband connection connects and both seems to connected.... i noticed that this happens when keep switching between 2 public wifi connections (less ppl). If i disconnect the broadband connection the current connection would have no data transmitted although wireless network is still connected.. thus i switch back to the other wifi network (which works albeit slower.....)
is there a reason why my broadband connection was activated ?? also can't reactivate the broadband connection if i disconnect it.... this doesn't happen often but it bugs the hell out of me.....
if any1 could answer me ... thanks...

When you say broadband, do you mean your wired connection?
Either way I would look to control the connections at the firewall level. Most of the free ones support network based rules, meaning you can set up different rules for each connected network. I know Zone Alarm does, and I believe Comodo does as well.
I would create a set of rules to either block the unwanted or unknown connection, or to make it so that it must ask for permission each time.
Also I would use some kind of packet capture software to find out what is being sent over the connection and to whom. For this I would recommend Wireshark.
