Trouble staying connected to the internet

I have a laptop with Windows Vista which I use to connect to the internet through a WI FI network.

I am able to connect to the internet initially but after a short period of time all the web browsers stop work on this laptop. the laptop still receives a signal from my router, but the internet stops working and I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work again other then rebooting the computer. This is a pain to have to reboot the computer every so often just to get back on the internet.

I don't have this problem on the desktop computer I have. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    Dave

What type of encryption are you using on your Wireless?

I was using WEP but had to step back to WPA since my laptop had the same issue.

And post your Laptop and WiFi software/driver.
I remeber mEtRiX having same issues on his Toshiba Lappy and in the end we found out that the Wireless drivers provided by toshiba were faulty and he had to aquire new ones.
    Something to remember...

I've never had issues with WEP on my wireless, though with WPA it also worked OK before. If I have any issues with my wireless connection (which is not often) I just switch off my wireless adapter for 30 seconds and then when I switch it on all comes back to normal.

No offense, Natella, but my laptop is sh*tty at best, it runs Ubuntu and any program on it fine, but throw Vista on with all the eye candy on and it lags to sh*t. So I have to make my other computer cooperate with Windows B*tcha AKA Windows Virus AKA Windows Vista.

And considering I had to do that every half hour due to the how shoddy it was, I decided to drop back to WPA. And that seemed to do it.
