hawking hwug1a problem
i purchased the hawking hwug1a wireless usb adapter. i have vista 32 bit. vista said that it is "compatible" and that it is "installed", however it does not come up as a wireless adapter. it says unknown device. the drivers that came with it state that they are mac os only. the drivers are .dmg which i believe are mac format. i tried to google for windows drivers and came up empty. so, my questions are:
1) can i convert a .dmg to a .inf so it will install?
2) is there a way to make a driver?
3) anywhere i could get drivers that would work?
my only other thought is that the chipset is ralink. can i use another ralink driver to make it work?
thank you in advance for any assistance. if i don't get it working, i will have to return it.

You can't convert a MAC OS driver to windows...
http://www.hawkingtech.com/products/productlist.php?CatID=35&FamID=111&ProdID=362
The product page clearly states that it works with Mac OS X 10.3 - 10.4 (Intel or Power PC). Nothing on Windows at all. So I don't think it can be ran on Windows.

Correction, can use with PC
Just a quick correction to the conclusion in the last post...
I've been using this supposed Apple only adapter for months with XP Professional
You need to use the hwug1 (omit the 'a') driver to get the PC driver...
I can't speak for Vista/Win7, but Microsoft lists the adapter as Vista/Win7 Compatible, so it probably works fine.
I know this thread is old, but I post this for anyone who finds it the same that I did...

Because it is a useful post to the original one, it is allowed. Don't worry, it's just if someone bumps an old thread with 'THANKS', those are the ones we're trying to top.
