    Check the DNS configuration.
And also make sure that the browser is not using any proxy address.

Sorry can't be specific because I have to go out now. Hope that other guys here can show you how.

Is there any message that pops up on the XP like 'local access only'?

My XP connects to the router and so Does the Vista, but the Vista can connect to the internet while the XP cannot. The DNS on both are the same and yes there it does say "local only" it DOES connect to the router but not the internet while they both have the same settings besides the same IP cuz that can't work obviously. I Think the problem is the subnet Mask i am using. It only allows 1 DHCP user at a time so that may be it, but i can't use any other subnet because the one i am using is the only one that gives my Vista internet... its confusing.

As long as the subnet mask is the same, then it shouldn't be a problem.
Normally a router should support more than 1 dhcp user. A dhcp service provides an ip address to a computer that is connect to the router, so if both of your computer has its own ip, then it can't be dhcp.
