icmp flooded?

Avira Security suite says "icmp flooded". My computer plug directly to the modem. I never have this problem before. When I search for icmp flooded means ping. It's seem like my network gets attacked.
Can someone tell me how to prevent the icmp flooded?

You can't really prevent an ICMP flooding if someone wants to do that on you.
You can however use a firewall to block out those ICMP requests.
