The problem with speed tests is that there are a lot of variables, like how many hops your connection has (if you know their ip adress do a trace route), how far are the servers, how many users those servers have.
Internet connections are dynamic even if you try to connect to the same server.

Only use this one. Speednet and speakeasy give different results all the time. This one only trace differences.

This is showing on mine, and i am running 19! lol

The best way to test you speed is to test it at your ISP providers site or server.

That's the only reliable test result, cause all these sites (speedtest etc...) connect to different servers and for example, here in Croatia one time you can select Zagreb as a server (via Bnet which is not the ISP I am connected to) and other times it's just not available.

The results can drastically be off when measuring them on non ISP testing sites.

Just ran a test on Speedtest, my download speed is 4.32 according to them via my ISP-s server my download is ~523kbps...so that is somewhat off...
    Something to remember...

After a few call. My ISP fixed it. They just send packet to my modem to increase the signal.

I have also experienced a similar problem... My download speed is 256kbps. So normally download occurs at 30kbps max. But few days back I was getting double download spped. max 60kbps. I was happy and didn't contacted with my ISP.
Suddenly from the last few days thing changed a bit. From some sites like Softpedia download speed is maximum and from Filehippo it is very slow at 5kbps max. This also happened with most of the sites.
by testing speed at different sites gave different results.
testmy.net confirmed 5kbps download speed. But other sites gave different results.
Same were with Upload speed. Should I contact with my ISP?

Well, you should if the download speed differs from the one that you are paying for (meaning it's smaller ).

True... that what I am still ignoring it. I am paying for 256 kbps and they are giving me 512kbps max. I don't know whether they changed any scheme or not.

But if this problem goes on I will contact them. Because download at 5kbps at most sites is irritating.
