How did you get up your network connection? Did you set it up as bridged or shared?
That's a major issue I've seen people do, they take the defaults and hope it works, but you've got to share your connection with your VM to get internet.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

i am using host only in vmware

Okay, I don't use VMWare, just so you know, I use VirtualBox.
But on setup of a new VM, it asks you what you'd like for networking.
Select on that screen 'Bridged' or 'Shared', so you share your network card with it. Make sense?

yes I made it bridged but no net?

Odd... try reinstalling it on a new VM with Bridged connection, should work then.
(I say this because most times, the VM doesn't like changing over)
