    Need help accessing network scanner

I have windows 7 pro and i have a xerox wide format plotter scanner. When i scan plans and i then go back to my computer and access these plans through a program which accesses the network scanner, but the program can only go through and find the scanner if i deactivate the windows firewall. I have given access to the program but something is still being blocked.

    Thanks in advance

Make an exception in the Firewall. In Windows 7, that's simply

    Control Panel>Windows Firewall>Allow Program/Feature Though Firewall>Allow Another Program>Browse

then direct it off to the EXE of the program you're using to access the scan.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

No no, Services.msc in Run and check to see if it's on.

I'm reviewing a front end for Windows Firewall, you could always try that and see if it picks up what it's missing.
