    ip conflict

hey everyone, im currently spending a week with a friend in another town, and when i tried to connect to their wifi, it wouldn't allow me internet access because it seemed that both our computers have the same ip. there were plenty of fixes on google, but i was wondering if it would have any effects on my network when i got back home if i were to change my ip. i.e. would i need to reconfigure or change anything once i got back home or would i be able to just access the internet automatically like before?

    thanks in advance!

Do you use wifi (DHCP enabled) in your home if so then just go to control panel select network connection from their choose local are network then tcp/ip now click on properties & select obtain an ip autometically. If dhcp is not enabled then you need to reconfigure on selecting use the following ip address section. But in your home if you are using manual ip range (for example 192.168.1.2 etc) & your friend is using the same then you don't need to configure. Just use diffrent ip on both pc or laptop then it will not conflict.
I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

You can manually do that or you can try the old 'Release/Renew' trick of IPCONFIG

    In a command line, type
    Code:
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

Your friend may have enabled mac filtering , they would need to config there router to allow your laptop on there network , or it's just DHCP as said above
Out of my mind. I Haven't Lost My Mind, It's Backed Up On Disk Somewhere.
