    NortonDNS and Cyberghost issue

    k. so not sure what change may have made recently.. but when I try to load cyberghost vpn, it tells me that it cant connect to the vpn netowkr and to check my firewall and make sure i have active internet connection.. well my firewall is not blocking it (used it before and verified it is allowe) and obviously i am on the net right now so not sure if a windows service got stopped/turned on that is effecting it.. any ideas?

for norton dns, all of a sudden saying not protected, think was starting last night.. comes up saying unable to query the A record on norton dns server 198.153.192.1. this operation returned because the timeout page expired. Unable to query the norton dns servers. there may be a connection problem or dns queries may be hijacked.

so. right now puzzled gonna check a few things.. but still stumped so far

k... so.. i went in and re-disabled my vmware services in the services (were disabled b4, guessing due to tune-up utilties).. and now norton dns is coming back up protected.. so, either one of those were effecting it, or just something could have been going on with their servers?

    cyberghost still won't load though

Try to browse CyberGhost VPN site and check whether Norton DNS allows access or block it.

k.. well right now norton dns says protected, and i can go to the cyberghost page.. iirc, i used the cyberghost vpn while i had norton dns before.. the only change ive made recently was i DL'd and am currently trying out the new Chrome... but dont see how that would effect either..

thinking it might be my ISP.. right now it is their throttle time so its slow as heck for normal stuff as they alot most of the bandwith to skype to allow peeps to call out

    just wierd

i got rid of cyberghost because it messed up my system completely and other PCs on the network

only reason i have it is to use on some of those pesky german only giveaways.. as the proxies tend to work better that is bout it.. other than that. dont even use it..

right now got home and dns is saying protected.. so wondering if might have been that isp was just to slow and the requests it sends just kept timing out was all.. ill keep an eye on it till bed since now is the "better" time for net speed :P

doesnt look like it has to do with speed.. still going in and out

Cyberghost free or paid is not the most reliable VPN and I often found you either could not connect or it took so long it was a waste of time.
I still have it installed but I cannot remember the last time I used it.
