    Internet Disconnects When I'm Gone

I have a problem with internet connection. My operating system is Windows 7 64bit. When I am using my computer, the internet never disconnects. Everytime when I left it there, it disconnects. I am playing a game and need it to stay connected even when I am gone.

Mine is exactly the same inventerdison1 once it goes into powersave it disconnects from the Internet and i have an alway on service, i don' t play online games and when i hit enter to reach the desktop windows reconnects, for me it's not a problem, and you will need to change your power settings, it's not your service provider.

Since you have an online game running, that means there is data transfer and your router should not auto disconnect from the Internet as it is not idle.
However, this is something you can try.
Press WIN+Pause/Break key to bring up the System window.
    Then click on Device Manager.
Look for Network Adapters and expand it by clicking the + sign.
Right click on the network adapter that is used to connect to the Internet and select Properties.
Click on Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." and click OK.

Thanks for all your help! I tried all these settings already, and it still disconnects sometimes. I think it is the problem of the dynamic ip that I have. Maybe the internet provider will reset it once in a while causing my internet to disconnect.

Your IP is dynamic so there is basically a lease time of IP Address, if you continue your work it will automatically renew the lease but if you are in ideal most of the time it will auto disconnect .

I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.
