Belkin Router - Internet Connection Problem
Hi,
I have 5Net internet connection(Mumbai). And wanted to make it wireless at home so I have recently bought belkin wireless router Basic N150, we have PPPoE connection here so i configured router putting username and password in router by selecting connection Type as PPPoE and Selected Auto Ip assign by isp. There is one authentication of MAC address, so i told my ISP to reset the MAC address then i tried to connect the internet through router by dailing through Laptop(Created PPPoE connection in laptop from network connection) and was successful in doin same. But after 24 hrs i tried again to connect it but it shows error message that login details are wrong. Then i again told my ISP to reset MAC he did and connection was successful but next morning same error please help me with my problem
Thank you

Sounds like the same issue we had at our house, and I'm in Canada, using Bell Aliant.
We resolved it by using one of those timers you can buy for turning on and off lights in a house, and connected the router to it. If you want, could try that.

Light timer, like this.
Don't know if you'll find something like that where you live, but I plugged the router power cable into that. Turn it off for half an hour while I'm asleep and then have it turn itself back on, then when I wake up, it's been power cycled and I don't have call Bell Aliant for any resets.
Can't assure it will work for you, but it's an idea. That's all.

After resetting the mac address save your settings and take a backup of the settings. Restart the router. See now it is happening or not,
I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

It looks like 2 possible problems in my view here:
1) The MAC address is not getting released from the router itself.
2) The MAC address is not getting released from the ISP itself.
In either case, your MAC address is getting cached and is not released once the lease time is out.
I would suggest you put more pressure on your ISP to resolve it from their end since your connection seems to work fine once the ISP resets your MAC address.
It happened the same for me with BSNL here and I managed to resolve it from their end by putting pressure on them.
