Bypass Cisco on College wifi
Hey keep up the good work. Would you be able to do a post on how to bypass cisco clean agent also know as cisco NAC agent on a college wifi. My college only allow certain antivirus to meet the requirement and I love Avast but avast isn't one of the antivirus on their list. So if I dont have one of those anti virus that is not on their list I cannot connect. Mac computers can connect without meeting any of this requirement. So can you help me please?

My suggestion would be to either download the offline definitions or talk to the technical department and see why they forbid Avast. Anything suggested beyond that might be construed as hacking.

I have no experience with cisco clean agent or cisco NAC agent.
May I know if it needs to be installed on your computer?
If yes, my guess is it tries to scan somewhere on your computer for the presence of the software that they want you to install. I guess I would be able to help you figure out which key/file/process that the cisco clean agent is looking for.

OK, then I am pretty sure that the cisco agent checks for the antivirus presence.
May I know what antivirus does your college wants you to install?

That's a pretty outdated list probably your college did not update their Cisco NAC.
Why don't you try installing Norton Security Scan? Reason is NSS doesn't run in background.

and would I be able to run avast on system at same time without any problem like slowing down of laptop or any other issues?
the people in charge of the Wifi dont care much about the students. all they care about is the faculty members and they all have macs so they dont need the software to get on the network. Students to them there are like hitch hikers or piggybacking on the system.

Since Norton Security Scan doesn't protect your computer in real-time, it shouldn't affect Avast nor will it slow your computer down. Just takes very little space to store the application.
