I have a question about IP spoofing. if i were to run a program that would search out my original MAC address and then allow me to make a totally false one, would there be any problems with connectivity or perhaps legal issues?

If your ISP assigned you an IP I don't think it would matter, but keep in mine that if you use a router, then IP spoofing doesn't really get you anywhere!

I am pretty sure a Mac Address is located on IDStorage which is very risky to mess with.
EDIT: Have you tried this?
