I think there is a post in the blog about it but I have to go right now. The program that I use is called "TeamViewer" all you have to do is to install it and that 's it You don't have to set it up, all you need is an id and pass and youa re ready to go.

or you can try LogmeIn @ http://www.logmein.com it can remote desktop to computer that
behind router/firewall/NAT because it use the web interface to remote your computer!!!

Hi! Re: connecting remotely to another computer, I'm using the tight viewer just like how Raymond posted it in the blog.
From here: Easier way to remote control Mac via Apple Remote Desktop
http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2006/04/14/easier-way-to-remote-control-mac-via-apple-remote-desktop/
As all know from the post i referred to, I'm trying to remote access a Mac from a Windows PC.
I tried it, but i can't seem to get it right.
It keeps displaying that i've failed to connect to server (xx.xx.xx.xx).
I tried it with my other PC computer, which is connected to the same router that is connected to this computer i'm using right now. And i succeeded in remote accessing it.
But I'm having trouble connecting it to my brother's Mac. (his Mac is not connected to the same router, and is using a different ISP account.
So i was wondering, maybe it's because of the Mac's built-in firewall ?
But Raymond did not mentioned about any firewall. Or maybe he configured it himself but did not discuss about it in his post ?
And if it's because of the firewall, what could my brother do so that i can remotely access his Mac?
And also, to confirm whether i'm correct,
which IP do i have to connect to? the PC i successfully connected to is the IP addr. given by my modem.
All together there are 3 types of IPs.
1st - (if not mistaken it's called external IP ?) it's the IP connected to my ISP provider.
2nd - (if not mistaken, it's called internal IP ?) it's the LAN IP.
3rd - it's the IP given by the modem to computers on the network.
I read from other various sources, that i should need to connect to the "1st type of IP i described above" to remotely access another computer, but I succeeded to connect to my other PC through the IP assigned by my modem. This confuses me.
So which IP should i connect to if the computer is not in the same local network?
Thanks for your support.
Sorry for my long message, just wanted to make a detailed picture of my problem.
thanks.
If you don't have enough details regarding my problem, pls let me know. ^.^

michael: Microsoft Remote Desktop uses port 3389. Make sure you've forwarded the port.
tranza: There are only 2 types of IP address. Internal and External.
If you want to connect to another computer on another location/router, you'll have to configure port forwarding on your first.
Check out portforward.com website. It has very extensive and useful information on port forwarding.

Oh ok... I forwarded the ports.. 5800, 5900, and 5500.
But i still couldn't connect, if i may ask, which IP should i connect to? the internal or the external?
there's also a DHCP IP pool summary in my bro's modem.
the IP addr. displayed there is not the same with the router's local IP.
My router's local IP and tthe DHCP IP are different.
so which IP do i connect to?
Thanks for your support.
Also, will the Mac's built-in firewall affect the connection?

From Windows PC (Home) to Mac OS (Office).
You should be connecting to the external IP address if you want to remote access the Mac OS. To know what is your external IP address, simply go to www.cmyip.com and it'll tell you.
You can try disabling Mac's built-in firewall first.
