how to share net

hey ray
how can i share net on my 2 laptops i used ethernet but its ever connected by dsl
means i need not to log in
i have just to enter mp ip subnet gateway and dns in ip address and connect the cable
so there is no icon of it in network connections
also in loacal area network i dont have any drop menu to share net with
what should i do??
