hello everyone..greetings..

da reason for my post is to know what is the average of 1mb streamyx speed..
i did my speed test constantly and my 1mb of streamyx manage to get approximately 800 kb for download and less than 100kb for upload before.

however now when i do da speed test my streamyx manage to get olny 520++ kb of download while da upload is rather slower than before which is never even near 200 kb

as far as im concerned, 1mb package of streamyx should be 1 mb of download and 380 kb of upload..so let us share our results and see da variety of speed we could get from da so-called 1mb streamyx package

afaik..my 1mbps package wif Streamyx has a top download speed of 110kbps. I read sumwhere dat Streamyx has 80% of the internet gateway of our country..by dividing that number with the total number of Streamyx subscribers, we are left a significant gap between the supposed download speed and the "real" download speed when downloading from websites. Bear in mind that our ISP practices traffic shaping and caps our torrent speed. However this shudn't be a problem if u kno how to forward ports. Since I'm downlo

ading frm websites thru a dwnld manager wif multi stream support, my dwnld speed shud be my max speed-110kbps. Indeed a far cry frm the purported 1mbps. My frens too report the same speed. Lowyat has a HUGE thread abt dis. Anyway, lets c wat the network admin has to say.

My internet connection is quite fast and I have low ping - 24ms ping according speedtest.net.. and I like it

I have a high ping. OMG!! My internet connection is running like Mad since 10 Nov. Might be due to the Connection Upgrade. Here it is-- (Really I don't believe this)

^^^ Seems impossible.
It would translate to a download speed of 787.5 KB/s !!!!
I doubt any general site server will allow that kind of speeds.

Seriously Prashanth, that's true (You might not believe it). My PC uses a Proxy to connect to Internet which is supplied by the Engineering College in which I reside.
And Yes, from past 5 days, I am getting Download speeds around 700-1010 KB/s (with IDM). The best part is that all's for free.
I'll upload a screenshot of IDM tomorrow for the proof.

In Malta there are no test servers so I used an Italian one.

It's supposed to be 2Mbps/512Kbps
