Does your wireless router have digital signing? I hear that's the only way Vista will connect to a wireless.

It might be in the router/ gateway. I don't know, I've never heard anyone setting a LAN up like that.

Administrator
On your desktop computer that is physically connected to the printer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > right click on the Printer and select Sharing.
Go to Sharing tab and make sure that "Share this printer" is selected. Click OK.
On your laptop, access your desktop computer by going to run and type \\computername and click OK. You should see the printer there. Double click to install the printer to the laptop.
Do take note that your desktop MUST be turned on and booted in to Windows in order for the laptop to access the shared printed. Well if your printer supports network, then it's a whole different story.

The Fun Stuff Owner
Or download Network Magic and it will do it automatically for you (if you run the wizard)

The windows one is good.
The network manager is not freeware.
