The information I could find here is about the latest beta version (9.2.020.000). In the official site I could not find the changelog for the latest version yet.

· This latest beta release includes the addition of DefenseNet, a community-based configuration for your firewall, designed to reduce security alerts, providing virtually silent security without distraction.
· On Windows Vista and Windows 7, your network zone will automatically configure itself based on your choice of network type in the operating system (Public, Work, or Home.)
· The DefenseNet community-based program policy and SmartDefense Advisor features are now included in ZoneAlarm Free. You will not be confronted with security alerts when common, trusted applications attempt to connect to the Internet.
· Trial messaging at the startup of the client now refreshes with new content with each new day you use the product.

Performance

ZoneAlarm's performance was notable simply for how unnoticeable it was. Shutdown time did not appear to be affected at all, and neither did starting up cold nor rebooting. Changing the antivirus program that it was partnered with didn't affect the firewall's behavior, either. These are big changes from previous versions of ZoneAlarm, and obviously, they're welcome ones, too.

Bottom Line

This new version of the ever-popular ZoneAlarm firewall eliminates most popup firewall queries and adds a toolbar that blocks phishing and malware-hosting sites. The result is an excellent, free firewall.
