av-comparative: Whole Product Dynamic Tests - ongoing 2010 test
Via facebook
We just released the
Whole Product Dynamic Test!
AV-Comparatives is the first testlab in the world which can process hundreds of URLs a month full automatized. Thanks to Philippe!
Please note, that this is an
ongoing test.
Awards will be given in the summary report in begin of December.
http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/dynamic-tests
In this test all features of the product contribute protection, not only one part (like signatures/ heuristic file scanning). So the ability of detection should be higher than in testing only parts of the product. We would recommend that all parts of a product would be high in detection, not only single components (e.g. URL blocking protects only while browsing the web, but not against malware introduced by other means or already present on the system). We are going to release each month preliminary results of the Whole-Product-Dynamic test on the website. The final complete report, which summarizes the results of all months (August/September/October/November), will be released begin of December 2010
download the pdf file, you'll be surprised.
Actually I have been surprised to see Panda to achieve such very good results

Like we say in portuguese "quem é vivo sempre aparece"
Not so much surprised with Panda as they also did well on latest dynamic test from Av-Test but i know some of these are hard to swallow - take AVG for instance, i cannot believe it. Thanks for sharing Leo, looks like i have to update / upgrade my news channel.

Many thanks leo. Glad to see trend's performance. I knew it will score good and I told that many times.

Thank Leo for heading this up. Good for Trend Micro and Panda...Bad for BitDefender users.

AVG ID Protect (behavior blocker) which is available only in Internet Security Suite version may be doing a good job. AVG must include it in at least AVG anti virus paid if not in free.
