Custom installation is not available in 2011 products including CF2 It might return in 2012 products (next year).

Custom installation is not available in 2011 products including CF2 It might return in 2012 products (next year).

Thanks for letting me know. I may not install it now. At least Kaspersky should give an option for turning off alerts for specific components like bitdefender or AVG. When any of the components is turned off the tray icon always shows an alert. This suite is not heavy but not light either and slow system startup and the time it takes for KIS to remove an infection (though it is not yet executed) is not acceptable. As KL keeps adding new features to the suite making it bloated makes me think they want to add all their analysis tools used in their lab to KIS making the customer computer a mini lab and slowing things down.

I agree. KIS 2009 was very light. That was one of the main reason I used Kaspersky. Scanning speed was fast too. But some way along the way, it got heavier and scanning speed have decrease.

Not to mention the stupid decision made by the marketing department not to include custom install into KIS 2011

PS Boyfriend, could you write your part 2 tutorial on how to set up KIS 2011 for max security?

KIS 2009 was one of the best security software. KIS 2011 is good too and will be speedy without security compromise if you follow this guide. Scanning speed is fast. Delayed reaction on threat detection has been solved in CF1 patches and in CF2. Actually, they have to introduce new features to keep with competitors and deal with limitations also imposed by MS here and there in each new OS.
