    Angry Microsoft Security Essentials v 2.0.522.0

    Microsoft Releases Update KB2461287 for Microsoft Security Essentials to Update MSE Client to 2.0.522.0

    Microsoft has silently updated Microsoft Security Essentials version to 2.0.522.0. Yesterday Microsoft released an update KB2461287 via Automatic Updates which updates MSE client to version 2.0.522.0.

    This new version comes along with lots of new interesting features like:

    * Behavior based file detection
    * Allows users to limit CPU usage while scanning

    You can enjoy these new features by enabling them from MSE Settings.

    PS: This update also detects pirated copies of Windows. If you used some bypass techniques to install MSE in your pirated Windows, this update will detect it and will insert a 30-day timebomb in Windows. You'll need to get genuine Windows within that grace period.

    @ leofelix Thanks for the headsup Leo!

    @ paf So, are you saying that there "might" be more than one or two pirated copies of Windows out there?

    Good...Windows users must have it, plus proper education.

    Thanks for the update Leo, looks like MS has improved MSE again, as long as MS lets people know what is in the updates then im happy enough,

    I've ran the slightly previous beta some time back before I went MIA and found it to be reasonably good in terms of performance on my PC as compared to V1 stable release...I've removed it though for now. I've never really liked the idea of having AV updates delivered through WU...time will tell if I can change my perception over this issue.

    Thanks Leofelix. Does this automatic update applicable for stable version or only to those who have beta version installed?
