I used the download link and it upgraded my 2011 Kaspersky to the 2012 with no problems at all.

Thank you Mike it makes the AV version i have laughable...

I've been an avid fan of Kaspersky since version 6, but everything went down due to problematic issues and slow updates on later versions. I do miss the old days when everything was just as smooth as it's advertised! The protection mechanism is already superior but the low points are still noticeable!

If Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 or 2011 is already installed on your computer, you should update the application to Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. If you have an active license for Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 or 2011, you will not have to activate the application: the Setup Wizard will automatically retrieve the information about your license for Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 or 2011 and use it during the installation process.

i can assure everyone the key of previous version works for this, to early to give any feedback on performance as i've only just installed but looks better

a full scan at maximum protection only took 49 mins which is twice as fast as NOD32 which i was using before this so i think i will stick with this and see how it goes

A lot better than I could ever imagine. My system was choking with KIS 2011 (Start up,applications start up,opening web pages) but this thing is waaay better. System needs only few seconds to boot up,applications which I'm opening for the first time they are on the screen immediately. Also web browsing is much faster. Great Job Kaspersky!!
