    Thank you Sameera
I'd like to know something about the changelog even if I know that Microsoft hardly release a changelog.
As far as I know MSE uses a new anti-malware engine now

For free is O.K., but I would spend some extra money for real protection, in this days with so much malware on every corner.

    Why bother?

With common sense, you won't even need an AV. Having MSE/Avast/ESET/Whatever is just another layer of security.

And if you know your stuff when you watch what you download... then MSE is good enough.

Antimalware Engine 1.1.7000.0 is released to all Microsoft Security Essentials and Forefront Client Security, Forefront Endpoint Protection, Windows Intune Endpoint Protection customers on 20 June 2011. Signature package 1.107.49.0 is the first that contains this engine
MSE is already a kick-ass freeware antivirus software. Like any antivirus software, it needs a smart user that will further enhance its capability. Regarding with MSE engine update, there's a monthly antimalware engine updates and change-log is indeed classified. Bookmark this page for future releases.
