    Big Grin MSE 2.1 | New Antimalware Engine.

    As part of regular update of our antimalware technology to address the latest in the threat landscape, MMPC is planning to release a new antimalware engine on 18 Oct 2011.


    Affected products: Microsoft Security Essentials, Forefront Client Security, Forefront Endpoint Protection, Windows Intune Endpoint Protection.


    Engine Version will be in the range of 1.1.780x.0
    Just hit the update button on 18th of October.

    Good to hear.. I'm still debating between this and Avast! Free for my laptop. Got a trial of Kaspersky on at the moment though, so no rush for me to decide.

    The media PC and the family computer both use MSE though and are well protected.

    I had already read this news at softpedia yesterday.
    I have to say that I'd like Microsoft to add to MSE a web protection and to stop updating MSE through Windows Update servers
