    Thank you sujay.
did you test this firewall, maybe ?
Zonealarm has been my first personal firewall about 15 years ago.
Unfortunately turned it into a bloated ad-supported software.
Recently they replaced ask toolbar with a counduit toolbar (which I do not trust also)
Is is possible to uncheck that awful toolbar during setup and does ZA slow down the system(again)?
Not to count that if I remember right "Zonealarm TrueVector" service did slow down your browser.
    Roger and out

In my experience Zone Alarms system impact is very system dependent. It slows down my Desktop's boot time horribly. The same was this time; slowed the boot by 2 mins. Also like always it corrupted my system restore. I have to try this on my Laptop where it stayed light all the time.

Used it on desktop for a long time. Now it is in my netbook too. Not sure about the boot time, but had no issue with the system restore till date on both systems. Which one do you recommend ?

Same as Leo, i used Z-alarm about seven years ago and at first it was great and then i got interested in Comodo and ever since use that as the preffered choice... my pc boots to the desktop in 33 seconds (average)and im happy with that, untill i try it with an SSD, windows firewall does a decent job even if interaction is a bit limited.

Thank you sujay for your accurate reply.
They once provided an unininstaller for ZA since it cause a lot of issues, I do not know if it is still available

i do not know about the free version but the paid which i currently use does have a dedicated uninstaller just in case it doesn't uninstall the normal way. It had issues with Firefox 5 and 6 ( horrible issues) but this version is a lot nicer . Anyway it still remains a very good choice . It does impact a little on ram but not a big deal

ZoneAlarm was my first firewall. That has been a long time ago. I moved to Comodo and have stayed with. Now I use Comodo Internet Security Premium 5.8 and I am very pleased with it.
Linux Distro at the moment Fedora 17 / Firefox 12.0

Same here! I stopped using ZoneAlarm a long time ago because of some issues.
