Thumbs up Windows Defender Offline Beta

    1. Actually this Windows Defender stands for Windows Defender for Windows 8 version which has the same capability as Microsoft Security Essentials. It seems to be a renamed version of Microsoft System Sweeper.
    2. It is for scanning boot-time.
    3. You need to install it in a CD/DVD/USB.
    4. You need to know the OS version (32bit/64bit) and have to download the appropriate version.

So it is sort of a rescue disk from Microsoft? By the way what is "scanning boot-time"?

Thanks for the heads up Sujay. I created the live cd and ran a complete scan of my PC. It took about 14 minutes to scan 370,000 files, but didn't find any problems.
