Did you try hitting the media dirct button again? And did you change the ram? Can you get into vista?

Initially, when it happened. i think i tried hitting the button again, when it wouldn't boot into anything but media direct.
But, i won't be hitting it again, because i have already re-integrated the space into my vista partition, and yes, with the vista repair disc, it fixed any vista problems i had and i can log into vista.(but, i think part of what it did was instead of the vista boot manager being on the xp partition, i'm sure that put all the boot info on the vista partition)
The ram is getting changed today, because, today it finally arrived. (the shipping info i received was a bit off.. to say the least)

yes.. i can get in the xp partition... right now it is the D: partition, and i've already checked the contents of windows.. everything looks fine as far as i can tell. all folders, files, etc seem to be intact.

An update
i was finally able to boot into XP by using the bootsect /52 all command..
It booted straight into XP..
But, to get back into vista, i had to use startup repair.., it said boot partition was corrupt, but fixed it(or so it said) and i was back to the vista boot manager, I thought that would be the end of it, but when i tried to choose xp, i still got an error saying cannot find /ntldr..file is either missing or corrupt..
but at least i know xp is still there and boots up fine on it's own.
Still doesn't solve the problem,. but at least, it's a step in the right direction..
any ideas??
