How to access HDD UDF partition of media recorder

I hv HDD recorder HMR-700A which records TV or cable channels on UDF partition of HDD-Hard drive, which is 1Tb. When I take out Hard drive and put in usb casing, I am able to access FAT32 and NTFS partition but not UDF.
Is there a formater to be to format Hard drive with UDF and also need FAt32 partition to be able to format upto 1Tb.
Which software will do this format and read UDF.

Do not format the drive if you want a decent chance of recovering the data. First read this:

Then download this:
http://xbmc.org/

If the windows version wont play it try the bootable stick build, but the xmbc should be able to play it right off the drive.
