Kaspersky - older version - PROBLEMS
Recently installed an Intel Mother Board which is older but resonably priced.
It came with a utility disk, which included a version of Kaspersky Antivirue Version 4.5. Software installed and logged the key, then immediately said that the key has expired in December 2006. Upon attempting to use add/remove programs to remove a useless program, I received errors that most files could not be removed (a partial list was given). I tried to use KAV uninstall to no avail. So I deleted the files that I could find which were listed.
When I rebooted the system, my remote printing has been disabled and a few other strange things.
Since this was original S/W I called the free tech support number and they recommended to buy a new version and attempt to use it to uninstall the older version.
This site offered several opportunities to obtain free licenses -NONE of which I could get to function.
I did find that Outpost has a deal on KAV, I believe it is $9.00 with a complete rebate.
Is this software worth having and using? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I still have a working 6 months Kaspersky key which I am not using.
I'll send it to you via Private Message. Give it a try with the latest version of Kaspersky Antivirus 2009.

Yes, In my opinion Kaspersky is one the best anti-virus programs available.
KAV is excellent protection and has very good detection rates.
If you can get KAV for $9.00 and it is a legitimate offer that is a real baragin.
