I'm working on a YouTube video and I need a free video editor where I can add effects, music, trim videos etc.

Also it would be good if it could support MP4.

(I have tried Windows Media Player but I don't like it)

Correction ~ No it was not Windows Media Player, It doesn't have video editing capability. It was probably Windows Movie Maker. I also do not recommend it esp. for large video editing stuffs you might finished it but you cant save the final output* bugs

So I do recommend professional video editor like
( full working trial version is available )
