Update Notifier (by CleanSofts)- Keep your software always up-to-date!
Freeware!
It's not that often that you find a useful and straight to the point program, which you rely on and becomes a keeper.
I'm highly recommending this freeware application titled "Update Notifier".
It doesn't even require installation. Simply run it and it tells which of your installed applications are out of date, with a link to go directly to a download page to update each of the listed software.
Download from the Cleansofts website: http://cleansofts.org/view/update-notifier.html
I've tried other "more advanced" version tracking software, but none of them were as quick and easy to use as this.
Keeping all your software up-to-date is good. Keeps your pc running well.
Ever since I started using this, I never have to go through each program and websites, to check for new versions.
I didn't like this as it is inaccurate. What I meant was :
1. My KIS 2010 installed on my desktop was version 9.0.0.463 (the latest) but it state that the version installed was 9.0.0.459. It didn't even say my Kaspersky was outdated.
2. It state my google chrome was outdated. But then when I check for update by clciking About, Google Chrome stated that my google chrome was up to date.
(1) Perhaps this is explained because your version is equal or greater to the "latest" version known to CleanSofts database.
However it must be a bug for the application, in this case, to show that you have their "latest" version installed, as apposed to just indicating the version installed on your pc.
I just reported these 2 issues to CleanSofts.
(2) Are you sure it stated that? Check your filter, exclude up-to-date software.
What are the 2 versions (version stated by CleanSofts versus version installed on your pc)...
If the program only indicates new versions based on the known latest version, then it explains a few discrepancies.
However it doesn't make sense if the program indicates that your newer version is out-of-date, when their version is older.
