I've used both and I seem to have better results with a-squared. In fact, it appears to pick up malware that other antivirus/antimalware programs seem to miss. It also seems to be a bit more user-friendly.

A squared is basically an Anti-Malware program and can be run with your usual Anti-Virus program.
Do not mistake it for an Anti-Virus program although it checks for virus's also.
It is not advisable to use it without also having a proper Anti-Virus program installed.

Sorry that never came out right.
It is safe to use A Squared at any time. But you also need a proper Anti-Virus program installed as well.

Agree with jock -- it's very effective as a complement to your antivirus software...

a-squared antimalware is an antispyware which includes Ikarus Antivirus engine too, however it works alongside the most of antivirus.

Unfortunately it brings to many false positives and it is a memory eater

In one and a half years of using A-Squared, I have had one (1) false positive (as posted about a day ago in regards to a freebie). Norton gave me false positives almost every time I downloaded stuff from sites that I know are clean. I would NOT run Norton on my computer even if they offered it to me for free AND offered to supply me with free top tier cable connection. A-Squared does seem to co-exist well with other programs, which is a real blessing. I have 'plenty' of RAM, and do not see any security program as a 'hog'. If you are running on short memory, you have to weigh the solution: do I forfeit security to gain performance? Your choice.

You should dump them both and go for avira or kaspersky. And the best part is avira announces free promos now and then. Given only to choose between norman and a-squared, id go for the latter.
