Microsoft Office document imaging
Microsoft Office 2003 contained an auxiliary program under Tools called Microsoft Office Document Imaging, which could be used for OCR. Today I am using Office 2007 but I cannot find anything like Document Imaging any longer. Does anyone know if the facility must be accessed from another button now, or has it been removed altogether?
SOLVED THE PROBLEM, THANKS

Mind posting how you solved the problem? I know of only a couple of OCR programs, ABBYY Finereader, and some sourceforge hosted projects.

It turned out that in Office 2007 Microsoft Office Document Imaging is not installed by default. You have to go Control Panel / Add/Remove --> Microsoft Office --> Change --> Tools --> MODI and choose: Add. It needs an additional 1 Gb for installation.
I have not played around with it yet. In Office 2003 you could only import .TIF files, so you had it to convert to that format, but you could work around that with Cropper (freeware).

For those using Office 2003, it is also not installed by default if "Typical" is used during installation.
