Kaspersky update problem

Hi guyz,
one of my friend is having problem in updating his KIS 9.0.0.459. the update starts automatically but when it reaches 5% or more the update stops and again starts form 0%. He even formated his PC and after formating the first he did was installing KIS and tried updating it but to no luck.

How fast is his download speed?

Is something blocking the download like a router or firewall?

the download speed is sometimes 2KBPS and sometimes it is around 20KBPS

and i dont think anything is blocking it bcoz he tried to update KIS just after formating without any software installed. and there is no router or firewall blocking it.

Windows Firewall might be blocking him.

2KB/s? I hope he is not paying for that! My first modem was 600 baud. We must be cousins.

dear his internet plan 128KBPS and download speed is 30 to 40KB. but while updating KIS his download speed is 2KB to 20KB. well last night he tried updating KIS but it didnt worked out and if this problem is not enough he tried to download a-squared anti malware for emsi.com but couldn't. Don't know what the problem is everything seems normal , the registry is opening , task manager is opening etc etc.

If you have a slow internet connection you had better not use A-squared, as its updates can be quite big. As for Kaspersky, you/he might try downloading the updates from elsewhere, at least for the meantime

hello assassin,

try to use other simple antivirus for which you can download update file from their server with help of download manager. I know that for dial-up in India it's very common speed, or else suggest to your friend to try at early morning or late night when speed is getting up as other common people stop to use service on that time.

For all other don't be surprise we really have that speed and I know it's not possible even to imagine, but we are growing I hope soon will have good speed which companies are claiming 2MBPS in normal connection. hope for better....
