Windows 7 Dual Boot
Hi!
I have a computer that has Windows XP in it with the required software/drivers. I'm planning to install another OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) so I'm assuming it requires the same software/drivers because it's separated from the other OS.
Will Driver Pack Solutions work to install the required software/drivers without internet. I'm asking this because I downloaded DPS the same day when Raymond Posted an article on it.
PS. I need to know a way to limit sound volume as one of my family member is very inconsiderate at putting it "down" even after asking nicely.
Thanks in advanced!

You managed to Dual Boot XP and 7? I can't do it with 7 installed first. After Win XP loads its files I get BSOD. Tried it with 2 different CDs. Epic Fail.

In order to dual boot xp and 7, you need to have the older os (xp) installed first.

If you have Acronis True Image, you can install any OS anyway. If I'm not mistaken, Paragon HD Manager will also let you.

I use an HP Desktop computer, not sure if it works with others
But like what "johnshaw1917" said, you have to have Windows XP installed first...

I was looking around the forums, and found a Hard Disk Partitioner program by EASEUS. It's FREE and it WORKS you can get it here

Anyways back to my reply, here's what I did:
1. I Downloaded and installed Easeus' Home Edition Partition program (link is above)
2. I split my hard drive using the partition tool to 2, named my "blank hard drive" "Windows 7 Ultimate Hard Drive". NOTE: The system needs to reboot in order to complete the partition process.
3. I put in my Windows 7 Ultimate disc after the reboot was done, then rebooted again. (Made sure my boot order was set to make the CD-Drive to be read first before the hard drive.)
4. Continued the installation process until it finished...
5. and VIOLA! My computer was able to boot to Windows 7 Ultimate
I hope that explains that
