    Protect firefox

Is there any add-ons that I can install in firefox to prevent my hompeage from being change by a program

eg driver pack 9 professional which will change the my homepage?

Or can I use Winpatrol for that? As far as I know, winpatrol only monitor IE.

It's not an addon, but believe either Spyware Blaster or Spyware Guard will keep your browser from being hijacked, and works on IE and Firefox.

    nobody will change the homepage...

in case it is getting changed on it's own; once u set to abc.xyz; then u need to scan ur system thoroughly for malwares, trojans & other bugs

Any other way than entering about:confg?

    @shan,
DriverPack Solution 9 Professional is really good and useful but I still didn’t like the fact that it hijacks Internet Explorer’s default website and change it to start.drp.su.
    Quoted from here.

    @grr,
You never know. In case you accidentally forgotten to uncheck make my homepage to abcd.com, ff wil become abcd.com when you open it. I prefer something like abcd want s to change your ff homepage. Do you allow. Something like what winpatrol does. Unfortunately, it only detect for IE. Many things now come with abcd.com services like ask.com services.

To fix the browser hijack and the language:
    -Open the ‘Tools’ folder
    -Open ‘config.js’ with Notepad
-Change ‘lang’ to have ‘en’ instead of ‘ru’
-Change ’startPageIns’ to have ‘false’ instead of ‘true’

    and that’s it!
Also from the same page, Lunar... you might do wise to read up yet

@hellnoire, I don't understand what are you saying.

I went to tools, I can't see that thing you mention.
    I went to about:config, nothing.
I went into my firefox folder, there is no tools.

In the program you're quoting off Lunar... DriverPack Solution.

This isn't a FF fix, this is a DriverPack fix!

    Thumbs up

    This tweak might help:

    1) Open Mozilla Firefox and from the Menu bar options Goto Tools-->Options
and set the homepage to your desired link and press OK button.

    2) Close Firefox window and Goto Start-->Run... and type in the following
    and press OK
    %appdata%\mozilla\firefox\profiles

    3) In the profiles window, you get to see a folder named (somenumbercode).default
open it and find a file named prefs (its a JScript Script file) and change its attributes to Read-only.

    4) Restart Firefox.

Now all your Firefox preferences including Homepage is locked n cannot be changed until you remove that Read-only attribute of Prefs.js

    or

    for another option read this:

    Locking Mozilla Firefox Settings

    Hope it's worth..
