Window Features Error
My Window Features menu displayed nothing, blank.
I had tried Raymond's guide, http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/...alfeaturesexe/, but it is still not working.
This is what my CheckSUR.log file looks like. I attempted to update the KB947821 twice. I also tried various other method like sfc/scanall, system restore, reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty, but to no avail.
I have used system restore but the problem still exists when it is restored to the earliest date. I have also uninstall AVG Free 9.0.830. Do I need to reinstall all the Visual Studio files? My Window Sidebar's gadgets are all malfunctioning, most likely due to this error.
Could anyone advise me on what should I do? Thank you very much. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

I bet you're running Win7 64bit...right? Have you tried a system repair?
Screw Google! Ask me!

Erm yes, Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium. Forgot to mention that. I tried using Lenovo OneKey Recovery 7.0 to make a recovery disc but I'm not sure whether how or can it be used to repair install my Windows 7 as I don't have any recovery disc before doing this. I had made the disc. As for system repair, I need to first make a system repair disc using windows right? But my OS now is sort of corrupted, so I'm not very sure whether the disc made later will be corrupted and can be used? I'm considering this, http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/window...comment-508678 but it looks kinda risky for me, so I'm hesitating. ):
By the way, thanks for the useful advice. (:

Hi
and welcome aboard
You should have a secondary partion with Windows 7 installation files, you may use them to repair your system

As I understood your Win7 came pre-installed with your notebook. From the manufacturers official page you may find a recovery CD in ISO format. Download it and burn to a CD. With that CD you might be able to do a system repair. And this CD will use some files from the partition that leofelix mentioned.

Haha. I did that but the problem existed in the earlier date of restore so can't help it I have to restore again back to the original date.

Used to? I'm worried later there might be some version incompatible or mismatch and cause error in the OS.

In order to use that I need to create a new system repair disc using windows? That disc is also the same as a system recovery disc? The OS there is not corrupted right?
Because I'm planning to repair install my OS so my present stuff still there, but my self-created Lenovo recovery disc, I have no idea how to use it. Is it possible to use system repair disc to repair install my computer?

I searched there but there is no download for recovery disc. I would have to purchase or order one from Lenovo.

Well...if this is possible go for it then. I don't think it would cost that much.
