Thumbs up Simple Hard Drive Cloning Software: Redo Backup and Recovery

Redo Backup and Recovery is so simple that anyone can use it. It is the easiest, most complete disaster recovery solution available. It allows bare-metal restore, which means that even if your hard drive melts or gets completely erased by a virus, you can have a completely-functional system back up and running in as little as 10 minutes.

All your documents and settings will be restored to the exact same state they were in when the last snapshot was taken. Redo Backup and Recovery works with Windows and Linux systems, so you can use the same tool for every machine. And because it is open source released under the GPL, it is completely free for personal and commercial use.

Thanks sujay! Thinks looks like a very interesting software and I will give it a try. Love the fact that it can be run from either usb, or cd, rather than having to install it.

    Thank you sujay
    did you try it maybe?
It should work both on Ubuntu Linux and Windows.
I have asked grr to test REDO Backup some days ago on our chat, but no news from grr's side.
I thought he was a tester:-)

I might do a more... featured and hands on review, because that seems a tad bareboned. Especially because I've been looking for something like this.

I created a system image of a HDD containing both Windows and Linux OS's using the Redo Backup and Recovery cd this morning and it was pretty straight forward to use. The live cd also has a number of other features, which I didn't get the chance to try out, but will some other time.

    Good to know John..

May be my PC is having some problem with these CDs. Previously Panda CD didn't recognise my graphics card and this time it also gave some error message...
