Updating Mozilla...
I'm finally updating Mozilla from v3.5 to the latest version?
a few questions:
1. would it carry all my saved passwords?
2. do i need to backup my bookmarks?
3. what version should i update to
4. would it automatically carryover my addons
5. anything else that i need to take care of?
Please help.
Thanks,
Grr

You make it seem like you're using a new browser altogether.
All of that should carry over automatically, the only thing you'll ever have to worry about is common.sense.exe

My only recommendation would be to create a "system restore" point before you install "any" updates. That way you can put things back to the way they were if the updates don't work to your satisfaction.

the newest firefox version is 3.6.8
you shouldn't lose any bookmark, password or preference (perhaps some add on may be incompatible)
However MozBackup is free and does the job

update to 3.6.8 didnt cost me any bookmarks or passwords
overall, it was pretty smooth

As other member said before, you do not need to saved passwords, backup my bookmarks etc. it automatically carry to newer version.
The latest FF is 3.6.8
For safety purpose create a system restore point

Ok.
A last question, would it also carry my history, so that i need not type the complete address to open a site..

It's always carried it over in my experience Grr.

Everything that you care about would remain the same....apart from the 'risk' of running into incompatible add-ons. There isn't a need to do System Restore point each time you update/upgrade Firefox...I personally view it as overkill.
