    windows is not booting up

    I was using my computer yesterday when it suddenly hanged. After waiting for few minutes I forcibly restarted it. Now my windows is not booting up. And BIOS is not coming up when i press del key. I am not able to boot from my cd-rom also.

    I have xp on c drive and windows 7 on d drive
    i have MSI G33M motherboard, intel dual core 2Ghz processor with 1 gb ram
    I have xp on c drive and windows 7 on d drive
    please help

    I doubt it may be related to some RAM problem. Wait for our hardware experts.

    sujay is right! I have a doubt too that the problem it's related to RAM. It doesn't look like a HDD problem neither...

    Is anything coming up on your screen when you try booting up?

    I'm guessing it might be a hardware problem, otherwise you should be able to boot from CD. I once had a USB pci card that stopped working and my PC wouldn't boot just like you said, until I figured out the problem.

    If you have power, and you here no beeps on your power-up, and you don't get a bios load (option to change/F2), then either:
    1. A power cable has come loose or
    2. Your bios battery died or
    3. Your bios is fried or
    4. There is probably a motherboard problem or
    5. Someone doesn't like you very much....

    It was Bios battery. I replaced it with a new one and now everything works fine.

    Thats the way i feel about my pc Ande...

    I was thinking that something was wrong eith the BIOS. Glad to know that you fixed the problem.
