    Post Installing Vista

I have a disk from an old Vista Dell box that no longer exists. I have the dell install disk for that box, Vista Ultimate 64.
My question is, how can I use this disk to install 32 bit Vista Professional on a new computer?
Since this is a Dell disk, I make no assumptions, and I'm hoping someone else has has a revealing experience.

Hi Ande you can use a small program named ABR it will copy the license from the 64 bit and you can use it for the 32bit and vice versa .. i used it for 32bit vista to 64bit also Dell and everything worked fine...Raymond mentioned on his blog awhile back and there is a beta version for windows 7 out now..
full details can be found here http://directedge.us/content/abr-act...up-and-restore

Yes, but I no longer have the 64 bit system up and running anywhere. A little late for this program, as it saves the active keys from a running system.
    thanks!

Thanks. I just ordered the hd for the laptop (the old one crashed). When I get it, I'll start fooling around with install options. If anyone's interested, I plan to put my findings here.

Much appreciated Ande ... as i had time on my hands i did a quick install of Vista 32 bit used ABR and then installed the 64bit as a fresh install.. i would be interested in what you came up with as i found out about ABR from one of Raymonds blogs and have kept it on a usb key so it is alway on hand should i wish to play around with either the 32bit or 64bit..

    Good luck with it Ande
